Our Wonderful Tree…

Hellooooo My Beautiful Wonderful Bay Area…  All throughout the country and our neck of the woods on the west coast specifically the San Francisco Bay Area… we’ve all been experiencing some unusual weather… Any time we experience unusual times as these … it certainly causes us all some unplanned for situations…

This was our prized “shade” tree… over time & incremental weather… no more trimming back… its time to cut down and remove today… we received this tree as a little baby as a wedding favor… they asked us to plant it in our yard… we did & were amazed at its growth & majesty over the years… & enjoyed spending time under her cooling branches…we’ll miss her… Thanks for the memories our wonderful tree…

Good Good Day to My Wonderful Beautiful Bay Area….

We have a double whammy to have a bright day today… Its a Day to Love and Be Loved and its the beginning of the Year of the Tiger!!…  The Chinese celebrate each new lunar year with an animal sign… 12 animals in all… every 12 years the same animal is welcomed for that year… there’s much meaning and celebration, optimism, hope and remembrance of the past… its a very exciting time for those whose birthdays falls within that year’s animal sign…

The Tiger is my sign… I’m very excited that its my year this year! its been 12 long years since it was the Year of the Tiger…  to make it memorable I had an opportunity to travel to the Kanchanaburi Province in Thailand and visit the Tiger Temple and commemorate this year with a foto with a Tiger!!!!!…   Very Very Special… Hope you enjoy this foto… and Enjoy this New Year along with other Tigers and myself… What sign are you?? Gung Xi Fa Csai!!… Gung Xi Gung Xi… Happy Chinese New Year to All…

A Special Home in Bangkok…

Add a comment  |

Greetings to you My Beautiful Wonderful Bay Area!!…

Looking at homes and learning how and why they’re built the way they are and getting to know abit about the people that built and reside in their homes has always been very interesting to me… we have so many luxuries in our homes many elsewhere in the world can never realize or imagine… there’s always been the haves and have nots… and those somewhere in the middle… Today I just thought it might be interesting to share some info and photos of a home we recently visited…

My husband and I recently took a holiday trip to Bangkok, Thailand… one of the most intriguing, fascinating, informative trips we’ve ever had the pleasure of taking…Part of what makes travel so intriguing  is to see the different ways people live and the kinds of structures they reside in… the most lavish structures and materials in Thailand are used for the many temples that are scattered throughout… Thailand being a deeply religious Buddhist country.

One of the most revered and unique single residences in Bangkok was built by Jim Thompson… the man who had the vision to bring Thai Silk to the world…http://bit.ly/8gaxDf

His home was and still is a showplace and one of a kind… so very unique in that he purchased 6 single traditional Thai homes made of the best teak wood (most of which were already two centuries old from different provinces in Thailand) and moved them all to the location where it still stands today inside the City of Bangkok (which sits just next to a working canal)… he used his training as an architect to create and build his home…but kept in keeping with Thai customs and style… Thai homes were never built with bolts and screws, all the wood was cut precisely and fit into grooves or wood slots when the owners wanted to move it was very easy to disassemble and then reassemble at they’re new location… the house was elevated a full story as with all other Thai homes… above the ground… for several reasons…

Traditional Thai Roof to keep the home cooler….

Jim Thompson’s Bedroom Suite…

Traditional Lower Level of Thai Homes… Jim Thompson’s is much more elaborate…

Some of the Tropical Plantings in his Garden…

When the home was completed Jim Thompson moved in. It became the place to be invited to if you were anybody in Thailand… People from all walks of life were honored to join Mr. Thompson for a wonderful evening of dinner, entertainment and conversation… he almost always had guests every evening and  became the most sought after invitation to receive.  We werent allowed to take fotos of the interior of the home but please be assured it is still in its original glory…beautifully maintained… all the floors are made of teak and Mr. Thompson with his architectural abilities added some western influences (not customary in Thai homes) such as electrical lighting (chandeliers which came from Thai palaces), indoor staircase, interior toilet and shower.

This was Mr. Thompson’s permanent residence for 8 years before he mysteriously disappeared and no signs of what happened to him has ever surfaced… Today his home belongs to Thailand and is preserved as a lasting reminder of  his creative ability and deep love of Thailand.

I hope one day you can go and enjoy this home in person its truly a wonder in how it was put together!

After all…   there are so many diverse ways of living throughout the world… and if we can enjoy and appreciate them… it only enriches and enlightens our personal worlds.

Sawadeeka (Thai meaning Have a Good Day!)

Life as a Game…

Add a comment  |

Good Morning My Wonderful Beautiful and Very Wet Bay Area!!…

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them -

Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit

and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass.

If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.

They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.”

WORK EFFICIENTLY DURING OFFICE HOURS AND LEAVE ON TIME.

GIVE THE REQUIRED TIME TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & HAVE PROPER REST.

How Long Do Short Sales Take??…

Add a comment  |

question

Hellooooo my Beautiful Wonderful San Francisco Bay Area!!… The Burning Question of the Day!!

Everyone listen up… NOT ALL BANKS have the same requirements to close short sales… Dont Assume they’re all the same… ding ding ding… please wake up sellers, buyers and agents!!… alarm clock

The short sale process is generally as follows…

  • Complete Short Sale Package from seller and submit…
  • Submit Offer…
  • Bank acknowledges receipt…. 10 to 30 days…
  • Bank orders BPO or appraisal… 30 to 60 days…
  • File is reviewed… 30 to 60 days…
  • Negotiator is assigned… 30 to 60 days…
  • Level 2 Negotiator may be assigned… 30-60 days…
  • File is approved or rejected… 60-120 days…

If you’re running past 120 days… its possible the listing agent or a 3rd party negotiator isnt on the ball and very lax in contacting the bank… calling the bank can mean waiting on hold anywhere from10 minutes to an hour or longer… or it could also mean the bank has internal problems ie) not enough staff or lost the file a few times… causing agents to resend packages over and over… You cant always avoid problems in a short sale… PATIENCE is key… threats to walk away from your offer means nothing to the bank… stick it out and wait… if you really truly want the home….

Near Foreclosure… Families Burn Their Homes!!…

land fire

Greetings to You My Beautiful Wonderful Bay Area… The  Thanksgiving Holiday has come and gone… hope it was spent the way you wanted!  It always takes me awhile during and after the holidays to come back to full work mode… its always a special time for reflection and its a great way for me to just take it all in… whatever that might be… but you’re never ever far from my mind…

Today I want to share this with you… Its something that came across the news yesterday…  There’s a growing epidemic of people across this country… about to be foreclosed on who have resorted to burning down their homes!!… mostly out of sheer desperation because they cant get help from their banks… many resort to this with the misguided understanding that by losing their homes to fire their home insurance will pay off their mortgages!!…  Some may look at this as not being desperate, but being spiteful and destructive and greedy. The fact is… its happening… right or wrong… (its not the issue)
http://bit.ly/7zUIUI      and       http://bit.ly/8cX1lv

Its a terrible terrible situation… this problem obviously is too large for any one of us (as individuals) to fix…but we need to remember that there are so many others with much bigger problems than we have… whether they brought it upon themselves or not… I surely dont know what the solution is or if there ever will be…

I just hope we can keep in mind the “reason for the season”… and work towards a better future for all.

Thanks for checking in… your comments are always welcome… Come back and visit all the time!!…
