One Light Bulb at a Time

Good Day my Wonderful Beautiful Bay Area!!…          A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn’t slow a train very much, a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American ….Good idea … One light bulb at a time . . .

Check this out . I can verify this because I was in Lowes the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments . They were all made in China.
The next day I was inAce Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking …

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job . So,after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track . Let’s get behind her!

My grandson likes Hershey’s candy . I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now.. I do not buy it any more.
My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico …Now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything ..

This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets . I was in
the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, “Everyday Value” I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats – they were the same except for the price ..
The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in – get ready for this – the USA in a company in Cleveland, Ohio…

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here ..

On to another aisle – Bounce Dryer Sheets . .. .Yep, you guessed it, bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA ! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using  for years and at almost half the price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA – the job you save may be our own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!

(We should have awakened a decade ago .. . .. . . . )

Let’s get with the program . . . .. Help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U . S . A ..

I passed this on ………. Will you ???????

More Help for First Time Homebuyers!

Good Morning My Wonderful Beautiful Bay Area!!….  There’s just something to be said about working with clients who pay attention to their purchase and any legislation that might affect their transaction…

First thing this morning received a call from a client in escrow… he just heard on the news that there may be another $10,000 tax credit for 1st x homebuyers specific to the State of California… was this true and could we get included??…

Personally I hadn’t heard so after checking with my local board, CAR, other sources including CAR Legal… IN CASE YOU HAVENT HEARD  … there is indeed an extension that will go into effect sometime in May of this year which will give first time homebuyers an additional $10,000 tax credit from our great state of California! In addition to the $8,000 tax credit from the federal government…  if your buyers are in contract by April 30… This piece of legislation is very very good news !!… we’re advised to wait a few days for the details to come out…

Keep checking in… Will post updates as more details roll out…

Hope this news comes in handy for you… It’s a bright sunny day… Cheers Everyone!!

Hellooooo My Beautiful Wonderful Bay Area…  All throughout the country and our neck of the woods on the west coast specifically the San Francisco Bay Area… we’ve all been experiencing some unusual weather… Any time we experience unusual times as these … it certainly causes us all some unplanned for situations…

This was our prized “shade” tree… over time & incremental weather… no more trimming back… its time to cut down and remove today… we received this tree as a little baby as a wedding favor… they asked us to plant it in our yard… we did & were amazed at its growth & majesty over the years… & enjoyed spending time under her cooling branches…we’ll miss her… Thanks for the memories our wonderful tree…

Palomares Hills or Five Canyons… Any Difference?

Comments Off  |

Hellooooo to You My Beautiful Wonderful Bay Area…  Have you ever heard of Palomares Hills or Five Canyons??… What part of our beautiful wonderful  bay area would you say these two areas are located?… Both of them definitely sound like they would be in the hills somewhere… which could be in any number of locales throughout the San Francisco Bay Area… Go Ahead Take a Guess!!…

I have heard that Palomares Hills and Five Canyons are good areas ~ Can you tell me more?  Asked by Doug …

Hi There Doug… Palomares Hills & Five Canyons are both hugely popular masterplanned communities… There was one major developer/builder for Palomares Hills… this community sits at the eastern end of Castro Valley and has long been considered one of the premier communities in Castro Valley… the older homes begin at the bottom of the hill as you drive up the hill the homes are newer… there are duets, townhouse, single family residences throughout the community, each section possess certain amenities specific to that area… there are multiple community pools, a widely used tennis court area with various local tennis clubs using the facilities, a main clubhouse and swimming pool and schools for the children…there is a multitude of floorplan configurations, many with valley views and pano views.. many people know this community for its red tile roofs and the huge section of hill its built on … with its own fire station… another distinction is there’s one way in and same way out.

Five Canyons is another premier community but the difference is there were multiple developers and builders involved in the building … specific names for each mini community within … you’ll find the homes vary in workmanship and quality specific to the builder…it is newer than Palomares… Again there is a multitude of floorplans and amenities… Huge Huge main pool and various others throughout… neighborhood play areas and walking paths… prices can go up to multi-million dollar range… some of the homes at the top end of the hill possess much more square feet than Palomares homes. At Five Canyons there is a front way in and out and back way in and out.

Both communities appeal to young families, larger families, empty nesters, professionals and retirees who prefer the master planned community lifestyle and the amenities that are offered… and of course they prefer hillside living away from the hustle and bustle.

If you’d like more input I’d be happy to oblige.
Thanks for your inquiry…

More Money Help… for First Time Homebuyers…

HouseSold

Greetings and Happy Happy Monday to You My Beautiful Wonderful San Francisco Bay Area… Hallelujah Hallelujah… the recent extensions for the up to $8,000 tax credits will certainly encourage first time homebuyers to become proud homeowners… but did you know there are other incentives established in various cities throughout our beautiful Bay Area?  Cities that participate have their own set of requirements and money allotments to help low and moderate-income households receive extra monies… to assist them in buying their first home… some of the cities will also allow folks who have previously owned homes within a certain time frame to apply … (each city has their own set of rules and guidelines, each city has different maximum amounts of money they will award each applicant and each have their own repayment plans … all depending on need… keep in mind its usually first come first serve until all the allotted amount of monies are used up… you will be required to attend workshops and attend a seminar or two to get into the program… all designed to inform and educate about the process)…

Lots of people have no idea these programs exist or they cant believe they exist.

Lets take the City of San Leandro as an example… when you attend a city run First Time Homebuyer Seminar you will learn ways to get up to $65,000 in home purchasing assistance!!… Over the past 2 years some 20 San Leandro households have made their first home purchase through this program.

San Leandro offers down payment loans up to $30,000 at 3% interest for 20 years. No payments are due for 5 years, nor does any interest accrue during that period. In addition the Federal Home Loan Bank WISH Program may also contribute $15,000, which is forgiven… you never have to pay that amount back. On top of this, the California Housing Finance Agency may lend an additional 3% of the purchase price… which is deferred for 35 years… and with the new extended federal tax credit of $8,000… makes this a huge opportunity for those who qualify for the help!!… San Leandro’s program allows a maximum of $75,000 for 1 person to earn in wages & $85,700 for a 2 person income per year… Buyers must also provide at least a 3% down payment… the home must be purchased in the city limits… more detailed information will be given at the seminars. You may download the city’s First Time Homebuyer Brochure in several languages at…

Please pass this information on to those who can use it and most definitely look into cities you’re interested in… just google City of _______________________…

This is a wonderful thing…
